October 12th 2019
The 30th monthly meeting of a Notch Above Photo Club was convened by Tim at 1:00 PM.
Members present were Joe, Bill H., Bob, Tim, Mary, Jen, and Scott. Our ranks are now expanded
to now include new members Bill L., Carleen, Barbara, and Brooke. We now have 11 members and invite
other local photo enthusiasts of all experience levels to meet with us.
The first order of business today was to have each member provide a brief self introduction to describe
experience level, equipment type, and most importantly, their desire for skill improvement.
Bob provided the Monthly Treasurer’s Report which reflected a balance of $335.30.
Up to this point member monthly photo contest entries were being displayed on the large screen tv and we were ready
to vote. John F. walked away with the honors with his black and white image of Bicknell Brook in Enfield Center, NH. Great photo, John.
We then discussed potential subjects for the Oct – Nov photo contest and agreed upon “Something Blue.”
Bob raised the subject of a “pre shoot checklist.” Members were interested in reviewing and updating a previously
distributed NAPC pre shoot checklist.
Beginner level members were eager for a presentation detailing “camera controls.” Scott will add camera setting
field info for the photo contest.
Joe M. suggested that we consider a field trip to N. Haverhill to photograph a controlled burn by the N. Haverhill Fire Dept. in
early November. Joe will look into details regarding clearance from the fire department. Joe and Scott will coordinate to advertise
this on notchabovephotoclub.com
Next, members showed images from our field trips to Coffin Pond and Crawford Notch. This was both fun and instructional.
We adjourned at 3:15 PM.
