A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
June 9th, 2018

The meeting began at approximately 1:10 with Tim, Mary, Bob, Peter, Robert, Karina, and Scott in attendance.
Once again we experienced difficulty in utilizing the flat screen television audio visual system despite the kind
assistance of library staff.

Details regarding this meeting are as follows:

Scott briefly mentioned the status of work being done with a new Photo Contest Plugin and the
reworked member gallery.

Photo Contest topic for June/July will be Fourth of July, Wildlife will be the topic for July/August.
Suggestions for future topics included Macro and Phone Photography.

Bob reviewed the ANAPC financial statement and then presented information regarding a field trip
to Bald Peak which will take place on June 21st.

Members then voted on their favorite Flower pic for the May/June cycle which was won by Robert.

Tim then conducted an exercise concerning how to critique an image. Members were provided a handout
with various images and we then suggested improvements such as composition, saturaton, cropping, etc.
It was noted members provided comments closely matching the critiques done by professional photographers.

Lastly, each member discussed details of their entry for the May/June Photo Contest. We were privileged to
view a printed image by Robert which he titled “The Father, Son, and Holy Mackerel.”
