A Notch Above Photography Club

January 9, 2021
Tim called our third Zoom meeting to order with Mary, Bob, Bill, John, and Scott in attendance.
The following is a list of activities.
The question of muting all members audio and using the space bar to speak was discussed. It was agreed that we allow everyone to speak freely but ask members to mute themselves if they have a noisy background and only resort to muting all if background noise becomes an issue.
Bob provided a treasury report which indicated a balance of $243.63.
To eliminate confusion it was agreed that our monthly photo contest will be indicated by the month when voting occurs as opposed to the present practice of listing the beginning and ending date.
Bill once again emerged as the winner of the January photo contest with his entry “Winter Shed.”
Tim was recognized as winner of the annual photo contest with his submission “Sugar Hill Meeting House.” Along with this honor Tim will receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
It was mentioned that images uploaded to the photo club website appear with a somewhat degraded detail and tonal range. Scott will look into this for a potential solution.
Bob presented a discussion of panorama photography which included a brief video by Dylan Kotecki using On1.
Scott discussed some of the new features of Photoshop 2021, including AI augmented Neural Filters.
The topic for February’s photo contest will be “Wide Angle with Prominent Foreground Object.”
Future photo club topics of discussion:
Feb: Neutral Density Filters (Bill) Huion Graphics Drawing Tablet (Tim)*
Mar: Printing (Tim) Critiquing a Photo (Scott)
