A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
January 8th, 2022
Bill kicked off the meeting at 1:00 with Bob, Mary, Tim and Scott on hand. We were informed that Joe M. is hospitalized at DHMC. Our prayers and best wishes go out to “Bones,” a friend and valued photo club member.
Bob reported a treasury balance of $403.92 following purchase of a $50 gift certificate for the winner of our Annual Best Photo Contest.
During voting for the Annual Best Photo Contest winning photos from our Monthly Photo Contest were shown on the large screen display and in print. Scott was selected as winner with his image of a “Red Rose.”
Voting for our monthly Photo Contest was next, with a topic of “Winter.” Mary’s image “Storm’s acomin” was selected as winner. Very nice image, Mary.
Notch Above Photo Club has had a core group together since it’s inception in 2017. It’s rewarding to note the improvement in each person’s growth in terms of in camera and also post processing skills.
Bill presented Powerpoint slides to discuss and attempt to define the concept of “Fine Art.” This information was well received and resulted in an enthusiastic exchange of comments between members.
Scott’s presentation included Powerpoint slides to discuss:
The highest rated image post processing software programs
Basic image editing controls and their effect
Water drop images from member John. Members were very impressed by John’s 3 images.
The Photo Contest topic for February will be “Minimalist.”
Scott will be the moderator for the Feb 12th meeting.
