A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
March 10, 2018
Members Present: Tim, Mary, Bob, Scott, and guest Peter Grote.
Peter is a former Foreign Service Officer and present day professional photographer.
Peter has traveled several times to Nepal and has amassed a number of high quality
photos using an Arca-Swiss (bellows type) camera. We were very pleased to learn that
Peter has agreed to show his images from Nepal (the Himalays) at our April 14th meeting.
Once again we were plagued by difficulties with the conference room audio-visual equipment.
As is our normal practice the minutes from February were reviewed and then members briefly
outlined their photo related activities during the past month. Perhaps the most noteworthy update
was provided by Tim who indicated he is working on a 3d video in his YouTube series “Realizing
Your Vision.”
We then watched 3 short videos which dealt with the ON1 Raw 2018 tone controls in the Develop Module.
Using his laptop Scott showed several images from a January photo shoot which depicted frozen and snow
filled streams; several images were taken with a neutral density filter which provided a silky appearance to flowing water.
Next was a brief discussion of the upcoming field trip on 3/24 to the Rocks Estate. We have yet to discuss preferences
for a restaurant where we will have dinner following field trip activities.
We then discussed the current layout for our club website, NotchAbovePhotoClub.com which is maintained by Scott.
Scott solicited input regarding how to enhance the website layout with the idea of making it more stylish and compelling.
Our last order of business was to discuss and urge all members to become more actively involved, for example, by
showing a video and then conducting a discussion and/or hands on demo.
After the meeting adjourned Tim and Scott reviewed plans for an automated email driven RSVP function on the club website.
